I have many questions about when Lonesome Dove: The Series and Lonesome Dove: The Outlaw Years will be released to video and DVD and if the show is currently aired. Currently, these are your only VHS & DVD and television viewing options:

Lonesome Dove: The Series has been released on DVD!!! It was released on June 22, 2004 by the Platinum Disc Corporation. You can buy it at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Best Buy, and etc. This is the REAL DEAL, folks. We've waited and waited and waited, and now we are finally getting our show! |

EXCITING NEWS!! On September 21, 2004, Lonesome Dove: The Outlaw Years was released on DVD!!! It is a 5-piece set by the Platinum Disc Corporation. All dreams will now be fulfilled!! You can order it at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Best Buy, and etc. |

Lonesome Dove: Tales of the Plains encompasses the first three episodes of The Series. As of today, it is only in VHS format. The chances of it being released on DVD are slim at best, especially considering that the entire series has been released on DVD. I believe it is still available internet shopping sites, such as Amazon.com. |

You can, of course, buy the miniseries collection on VHS and DVD. Included are Lonesome Dove starring Robert Duvall and Tommy Lee Jones, Streets of Laredo starring James Garner, and Dead Man's Walk starring David Arquette and Jonny Lee Miller. These should be available at most media outlets. Larry McMurtry's Commanche Moon has not been made into a television series and is not available for VHS or DVD purchase. |

Lonesome Dove: The Series and the Outlaw Years is currently aired ONLY in Canada. It is shown on Canada's Lonestar Channel and CMT Canada.
